The city of Powder Springs on Thursday will commemorate National Day of Prayer with an event at Silver Comet Linear Park.
The city’s event begins at 6:30 p.m. May 2 with a short prayer and worship time and a walk through Powder Springs.
Guests should gather at the park at 1301 Richard D. Sailors Parkway to fellowship with other attendees. Following that, they will walk from the park to Powder Springs City Hall. Participants on the walk will make several stops to participate in prayers led by local clergy members.
Powder Springs said its event is expected to bring together a “multi-ethnic, cross-denominational group of participants.”
Prayer locations will be marked with signs Thursday, which the city said can be used for people who can’t attend the formal event to pray on their own and “in their own way.”
This year's theme for National Day of Prayer is Love One Another.
