Are you a lover of cats? There’s a new Georgia cafe coming to town that will allow you to spend hours cuddling cute, adoptable kitties while sipping on a glass of wine.
Pounce Cat Cafe + Wine Bar is opening its doors in Savannah this fall. The store, which originally gained popularity in Charleston, invites customers to hang out with kittens that are available for adoption.
“We are ecstatic about coming to Savannah. This concept has really taken off in Charleston, and with very similar cultures and vibes, we know a cat cafe will do well in Savannah, too,” Pounce owner Ashley Brooks told Business Savannah. “We’re just really excited about the opportunity to help even more cats in need in our sister city.”
Visitors can make reservations for $15 an hour. The hour gets you 60 minutes in the “cat room” and a complimentary beer, wine or “meowmosa,” which is the company’s term for bottomless coffee or tea. Snacks also will be on sale.
Brooks is making her way to Savannah soon to scout possible locations and to meet with representatives from a local shelter that could supply the felines. The cafe will also have to undergo specific health department inspections. All pastries must be prepared offsite, and the “cat room” must be separate from the bar.
