Ever wondered where, exactly, all your fellow Gwinnett County commuters are headed?

Now you can find out − in eye-soothing, non-stalkerish fashion.

Using national census data, a Michigan-based data geek named Mark Evans has constructed a searchable database showing the commuting paths of every county in the United States. Gwinnett County's map looks like this:

According to Evans' blog:

"The points are sized based on the number of commuters, so a large dot indicates a higher relative number of commuters moving from the same tract to the same tract. The dots are also color coded to see which counties are most represented in the commuter sample."

There are some surprises in there but, predictably, most Gwinnett County commuters wind up in Fulton and DeKalb. Explore the rest of the entrancing database − where you can also see how many folks commute to Gwinnett, or any other county in the country− by clicking here.
