Who let the sheep out?

Brookhaven police posted images of a flock of sheep seeing the sights at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Officer Carlos Nino said.

“The sheep belong a herder and the sheep used to graze at Skyland Park,” Nino wrote in an email. “Somehow the gate opened and the sheep went out for a stroll.”

Officers found the flock on Dresden Drive in Brookhaven with their security dogs, the post said.

Nino said officers called a phone number on the fence and contacted the herder, who came and ordered the sheepdog to corral them back into the fence.

Police do not plan to file charges for blocking the roadway or impeding traffic, Nino said.
