The Southern Museum in Kennesaw will honor Women’s History Month with a free program educating visitors about the lives of women during the Civil War and the two World Wars.
The program at the museum will run from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Guests will hear from representatives of the Georgia Division of Reenactors Association, who will interpret women's experiences during the Civil War. Educators will also go over what was done to provide medical and nursing support during the war.
Members of the Peachtree Handspinners Guild will dive into the chores and daily lives of people involved in textile production. Carol Cain, a Georgia storyteller, will recount how World War I and World War II changed the lives of women, most notably requiring their entry into the workplace.
