Cherokee County’s cities will be doing some trash-talking through July.

It’s the fourth year for the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Recycling Challenge. Residents of Woodstock, Canton, Holly Springs, Waleska and Nelson will be vying through July to see which city racks up the most recycling poundage, in conjunction with North Metro Waste and Waste Management. More than 800,000 pounds of recycled material was collected last year. Woodstock collected the most recycling in total, while Waleska hauled in the most per-capita.

The winning city will be announced at a chamber breakfast in August.
