Gwinnett County school board members Thursday unanimously adopted a near $2 billion budget for the 2016-17 school year.

Here are 10 numbers behind the budget:

• $1,987,910,465 — how much money Gwinnett has approved spending for the fiscal year 2017 budget.

• $87.5 million — the increase in spending from the current budget.

• 3.8 percent — the average salary increase for teachers.

• 159 — the number of teachers hired to work at the two new schools Gwinnett will open this fall.

• 21.85 mills — the property tax rate, which is unchanged from last year.

• $20.8 million — the net additional revenue Gwinnett expects to receive from the state.

• $23.3 million — estimated increase in property tax revenue due to a rise in property values.

• $9 million — the increase in costs for state health insurance premiums.

• 48.3 percent — the percentage of revenue Gwinnett will receive from the state.

• $135.8 million — estimated federal funding to Gwinnett.
