Operation BBQ Relief has loaded a flatbed truck with five large smokers, the television station reported. Its destination is Charleston, South Carolina, where members of Operation BBQ Relief will set up a staging area.
The charity is also sending a box truck full of supplies, KMBC reported.
Operation BBQ Relief also received 3,000 pounds of pork to cook for people in need.
