The Spruill Center for the Arts is holding its annual fundraiser online for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dunwoody-based arts center’s Artistic Affair event will take place March 20 and will raise funds for the school’s programming and community outreach efforts, according to a news release. The event includes raffle drawings, a silent auction, a live painting demonstration and music.

This is the 35th anniversary of the Artistic Affair event, which has raised more than $1 million for the art school. Last year’s program raised more than $40,000.

“When we realized we wouldn’t be able to host an in-person event again this year, we knew we’d have to get creative to make the event fun and exciting for our supporters,” Spruill CEO Alan Mothner said in the release.

The organization is partnering with Dunwoody restaurants Carbonara Trattoria and Vino Venue to put together to-go and dine-in menus, so attendees can eat during the event. Common Currents, a band from Athens, will also have a live-streamed performance.

Starting March 15, the arts center will host a silent auction which will end on March 20. Paintings, glass air, ceramics and handcrafted jewelry will be among the items included in the auction.

Are you going to our virtual fundraiser? The event is free! Simply register online at https://spruillarts.cbo.io to attend. Silent auction opens Monday, March 15.

“The money raised allowed Spruill to financially support their beloved family of instructors, purchase supplies and equipment needed to safely reopen and fund public art initiatives that took place later in the year,” the release said.

The broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. While attendance is free, pre-registration is required. To register, visit https://spruillarts.cbo.io.
