A robber waited for a woman to get out of her car, beat her over the head and stole her belongings, Atlanta police said. The attack happened Thursday at a northwest Atlanta subdivision.
Police found the 55-year-old victim holding a towel to her head as blood streamed down her face and onto her clothes. A pool of blood was found on the driveway near the rear driver-side of her car, according to a police report.

The woman said she was sitting in the parking lot of a subdivision on the 2200 block of Defoors Mill Drive checking Facebook when a silver Chrysler 300 circled the cul-de-sac, but she thought nothing of it.
As she got out the car, a man rushed toward her and repeatedly beat her in the head, according to the police report. The man then picked up her iPhone, took her car keys and drove away with another man seated inside the Chrysler.
A neighbor, who ran to help the victim, told police the car had black stripes on the hood.
The victim was taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
A description of the suspect has not been released.
