A pedestrian walking on Amtrak rails was killed when hit by a train, a spokeswoman said.

The person was “trespassing on the tracks” in Bremen when hit by the Amtrak Crescent about 7 p.m. Sunday, spokeswoman Beth Toll said.

“There have been no reported injuries to the 72 passengers on board or crew members,” Toll said.

The train, which was traveling from New Orleans to New York, was delayed for about an hour.

Amtrak police and local authorities investigated the crash, Toll said. Bremen is about 47 miles west of downtown Atlanta.
