Nevada trooper's badge apparently stops bullet

A Nevada trooper walked away unscathed after his badge apparently stopped a bullet during a shooting Thursday night.

The Nevada Highway Patrol's Southern Command tweeted out a photo of the badge, which just barely blocked the bullet's trajectory.

The shooting took place during a routine traffic stop on Boulder Highway near U.S. Highway 95, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal. When one of the men in the vehicle took off running, the unidentified officer chased after him and the two exchanged bullets.

Though the officer walked away unharmed, the man was killed as a result of the ensuing gunfight.
