A 4-year-old boy left with a fractured leg and visible bruises on his face is now in foster care after his stepfather and mother were arrested days apart on child cruelty charges, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Nikki Renee Lomax, 28, of Hall County, was arrested Friday on a charge of second-degree child cruelty, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said Monday in a statement.

After authorities arrested Bobby Franklin Lomax on a charge of first-degree child cruelty last Wednesday, they learned Nikki Lomax failed to report her husband beat her son “to the extent that he had previously suffered a broken arm which had been left untreated,” according to the statement.

The investigation also revealed Nikki and Bobby Lomax did not provide the boy with his prescribed medication, which he takes for seizures, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bobby Lomax, 28, is in jail without bond, Ware said.

Bond for Nikki Lomax has been set at $11,200.

The investigation is ongoing.
