Atlanta police are investigating a pedestrian fatality that happened on Christmas Eve.

At about 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the intersection of Boulevard and John Lewis Freedom Parkway. A woman had been struck by a car, and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Atlanta Police Department said.

The driver told officers the woman had darted into the road.

The investigation continues.
