While Andy Murray is focused on defending his Wimbledon title, he did manage to fit in an impromptu dog rescue on his way to practice in Surrey, England.

Murray saw the dog running loose on the road, so he pulled over and parked his car, then managed to stop traffic on the busy roadway. Murray was able to coax the frantic pooch to him, then grabbed it by the collar and placed it safely into the back seat of his car. Murray said the dog was panting and drooling, obviously exhausted from its ordeal. He called the phone number on the dog’s tag and was able to happily reunite the dog with its owner.

The runway dog’s owner said that her dog is familiar with the tennis star’s own dogs.

Murray is known to be a dog lover. He has a Twitter account for one his beloved pooches, a border terrier named Maggie May.
