Q: I particularly enjoy afternoon tea and scones. For some time, I used Krusteaz scone mix rather than making them from scratch. However, about a year ago my grocery store stopped carrying this mix, and when questioned they said that Krusteaz stopped making the scone mix. Thank you for your help. — Betty Holland, Canton

A: Betty, not to worry, Krusteaz is still turning out all of the scone mix you could want. However, it’s not one of the company’s most popular items, so that’s why it’s hard to find in local stores. In fact, there currently are no shipments to Georgia. Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to enjoy your afternoon tea because I have two options for you. You can order the mix from www.krusteaz.com or by calling 800-457-7744. You’ll have to order a minimum of four boxes at $3.79 each. The second option is to simply speak to a manager at your local Publix and ask for a special order request for the product and he or she can bring it in for you. The nearest Publix receiving a shipment of Krusteaz scone mix is located in Florida, so that’s where your Publix will get the mix. The only downside to that option is the three to four weeks time frame that it takes to generate and fill your request.

Q: Sabine, I love the cushy pillows used in hotels I have stayed in, generally Hilton or Sheraton. I have inquired about the brand at the desk and even offered to buy a couple. No info help and they're not for sale. Probably something comparable is available in department stores, but they are always in plastic packaging and you can't really tell what they feel like and how they squish. Can you find out how I can purchase some of these pillows or where I can find identical ones? — Sue Wilson, Johns Creek

A: Sue, I found pillows from hotels on the Vegas Strip to Disney hotels and even those found on cruise ships, as well as Hilton and Sheraton. Clearly, you’re not alone in your request because there’s a company that sells nothing but hotel and resort bedding. Take a look at www.hotelpillow.com, then select the hotel whose pillows you want. They come in various sizes. Shipping is free. You also can order by calling 866-381-1582. Sorry, you won’t be able to squish before purchasing, but the company has a 30-night sleep guarantee.

Q: I read your column each week, and hope you can help with my request. My husband and I recently returned from Sicily, Italy, where we had the most delicious chocolate we had ever eaten. It is a specialty of the city of Modica in Sicily, made the way the Aztecs prepared chocolate thousands of years ago. I brought a few bars home, and have tried without success to find it here. The company is Antica Dolceria Rizza. The bars are called Cioccolato di Modica, and come in a variety of flavors — traditional, pistachio, orange, coffee, pepper and hazelnut. If you could find a source in Atlanta or on the Internet (I tried without success), we would be so grateful. And we'd be happy to present you with a bar as a thank you. Not a bribe, but an opportunity for you to have this extraordinary taste, too. OK, it's a bribe, but whatever does the trick! Thanks so much. — Dan and Sheila Riegel, Alpharetta

A: Isn’t it just so bittersweet when you fall in love during your travels? You come home wanting to relive the romance only to find that you’re missing the vital component that kept it alive in the first place — the chocolate. In this case, you can go to the source because this Sicilian sweet is as elusive as you suspected. The company that produces this rustic chocolate has a website, www.sykelya.com, and you can select to view it in English. Here you’ll find a wide variety of chocolates, including the bars you love. You’ll see that the prices are listed in euros, but major credit cards are accepted. And, thank you but no bribe needed. I’m always happy to reconnect a chocolate lover to her beloved.

Q: For many years my dental floss of choice was a waxed heavy thickness, which I found suited my flossing needs better and didn't shred as easily as the medium or thinner types. But for the past few years the heavyweights have all been replaced by the more popular tapes and thinner versions. Store brand or name brand, it doesn't matter. Can you help me find the strong stuff? — Mike Zito, Sandy Springs

A: Mike, I checked around and I believe I found a floss that’s going to hold up for you. Take a look at Reach Dentotape extra wide ribbon dental floss, waxed and unflavored. It comes in a 100-yard dispenser and sells for $4.13 at Tuxedo Pharmacy, 164 W. Wieuca Road, Atlanta, 404-255-3022.
