Christmas is coming a little early for an Ontario town that's rallying around their "littlest hero," a 7-year-old boy with cancer.
Evan Leversage has been battling brain cancer most of his life, his cousin wrote in a letter to the town.
"Well, recently Evan's mom received the news that he will not be with us much longer," his cousin wrote. "We're hoping to give him one last amazing Christmas and we are asking for your support."
Evan's family said that they would be celebrating an early Christmas on Monday, Oct. 26, and asked that residents put up Christmas lights around the neighborhood to make the holiday special.
"Can we light up St. George for Evan so he can see the lights for one last Christmas?" Evan's family asked.
The community did not disappoint. Christmas lights were hung throughout the town on homes and businesses.
On Saturday, Santa Claus is due in St. George to visit Evan after a special Christmas parade.
Merry Christmas, Evan! Find the event information here.
