Q: I have come to coffee late in life at 58. The only kind that I really enjoy is Green Mountain caramel-vanilla-cream that is used in our work Keurig. I have tried, but can’t seem to find it in any other form for my home coffee maker, either in whole beans or ground. Is it sold in any other form besides the Keurig K-Cups? Or do I have to buy a Keurig just to have a cup of coffee at home on the weekends? Hope that you can help. Thanks. — Nancy Highfill, Suwanee

A: Nancy, you won’t have to buy a Keurig coffee machine to enjoy the fragrant caramel-vanilla-cream coffee concoction. You can purchase Green Mountain ground coffee in your favorite flavor from www.amazon.com. The coffee comes as a package of two 12-ounce bags, and sells for $24.16.

Q: I used to buy Back to Nature compostable trash bags made by INDACO at the Target in Canton. They are, by far, the best compostable trash bags anywhere. Since Target stopped carrying them, I cannot find them. Can you please help? Thanks. — Mike Cook, Jasper

A: Mike, I contacted the company, which is based in Canada, and was told that Target stores no longer carry the bags, but that they’re still available through www.target.com, and that some Walmart stores should have them as well. However, I see that they’re currently out of stock on the Target website, and that they’re listed as not available on the Walmart site. So, if you really want these right away, your best bet is to get them directly through www.bagtonature.ca. They’re available in various sizes from small kitchen bags to large leaf and yard waste bags.

Q: My favorite Vigo brand powdered ham, chicken and beef seasonings have suddenly disappeared from the soup aisles where I used to find them. I’ve looked everywhere I can think of in the metro Atlanta area to no avail. Please help as my great northern-and-pinto bean soup recipes are not the same without them — especially the ham! Thanks in advance. — Jack N. Horton, email

A: According to the spokesperson at Vigo in Florida, the flavored soup bases are getting more difficult to find in Atlanta-area stores, but I was told that some Publix markets might still carry them. If you visit Publix, 3535 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, 404-848-0344, you can ask the grocery manager to order Vigo ham soup base for you. Note that this flavor is the only one still available in their system. The best way to get the other Vigo soup bases is to order them from the company by calling 813-884-3491. You can purchase Vigo beef and ham soup bases for $19 for six plastic 10.5-ounce tubs. The chicken flavor sells for $17.50. You can't buy fewer than a six-pack, but you can mix and match flavors.

Q: I have been looking for Foy’s barbecue sauce in Atlanta but haven’t been able to find it. I know you can order it online, but I prefer to go to the store and buy it. Thanks in advance. — G. Jackson, email

A: Foy’s barbecue sauces are based in Columbus, so it isn’t all that far reaching to think that you’d have no trouble whatsoever picking some up in most local supermarkets. As you very well know, you can’t. I spoke to someone at Foy’s, and was told that the company doesn’t have a distributor in the Atlanta area, thus no Foy’s locally. Since you don’t want to order it, and I can’t blame you, you might consider a little road trip south. You’ll find a wide variety of Foy’s barbecue and wing sauces at Piggly Wiggly, 1861 Roanoke Road, LaGrange, 706-845-9102. It’ll take you an hour or so to get there, but you could stock up and hope for an Atlanta distributor to step up before you run out.
