Q: I would like to find a hair net that I have used for years, but am unsuccessful in locating. It fits over the head like a hood, and has a zipper in the front over the face. They are wonderful to save a hairdo and for not getting makeup on clothes. They are made of netting and so they do wear out. I am desperate to find new ones. Mrs. Norma Hockensmith, Canton

A: I think I’m not alone in wishing that all store dressing rooms would have some type of these shields to keep those who try on garments from getting their makeup on clothing someone else might try on. The nylon version you’re looking to replace sounds like the makeup and hair protector hood from Betty Dain. It’s washable and features a zipper. You can order that one for $3.99 from Manhattan Wardrobe Supply, either online at www.wardrobesupplies.com or by calling 888-401-7400. I also have an option for you to consider from a company that sells locally to the entertainment industry. Clean Try-On Makeup Masks are disposable masks that prevent cosmetics and facial oils from coming into contact with garments that are slipped over your head. These are lightweight, breathable and they also protect your earrings from getting snagged on clothing. They come in a box of 25 for $13, and you’ll find them at Gano Sales and Rentals, 3715 Northcrest Road, Suite 16, Atlanta, 770-448-0385.

Q: My husband loves to have Heinz vegetarian baked beans with sandwiches from time to time. The small cans are the perfect size, and I cannot find them now. I went online and can order a case of 30 cans — not doing that. I would love it if you could find out where all the little beans have gone. Joan Weiss, email

A: While many Publix stores carry the standard 16-ounce cans of Heinz vegetarian baked beans, the little 8-ounce cans are more difficult to find, but they are available. According to a buyer at the Publix corporate purchasing department, the 8-ounce cans only are available by special order. So, all you have to do is go to your nearest Publix, head over to the customer service desk and request that they be ordered for you.

Q: I’m searching for a local source for espresso powder. So far I’ve only been able to find it online. The shipping is more than the price of the powder, so I’m hoping to find it within driving distance. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Dianne Lux

A: Espresso powder is also known as instant espresso coffee, and it boasts a stronger flavor than most regular instant coffees. It’s made from coffee beans specifically used for espresso. These are ground, brewed, then dried, after which they’re ground again, transforming them into a fragrant powder that can be used for making cups of espresso or as a flavoring for a variety of baked goods. One popular brand used for drinking and in recipes is Medaglia D’Oro instant espresso. You can find 2-ounce jars at Target, 100 Perimeter Center Place, Atlanta, 678-259-0888. The espresso powder is stocked on aisle W-8.

Q: My husband works long, hot hours outdoors, and in the summer his favorite drink was the regular strawberry flavor of Powerade Zero. Now we cannot find it anywhere. The lemonade and watermelon versions upset his stomach. I would love to find this beverage for him and would be willing to buy a case of it, but would much prefer picking up the bottles in person and avoid the wait and expense of ordering it online. Can you help us out? Phyllis Hale, Acworth

A: I found some at Target, 2600 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell. 678-775-7612. Currently, the store has limited stock of Powerade Zero in the strawberry flavor. You’ll find the 32-ounce bottles for 66 cents each on aisle 17.
