As one rescuer joked afterwards, the stray dog was king of the hill. But it’s not the type of kingdom fit for a dog.
It was a trash dump site at a waste management facility in Los Angeles.
Tucked in high atop the mountain of trash, a scared white pit bull appeared in a cave-like structure made of garbage.
Hope for Paws led the rescue efforts. The rescue proved to be difficult, but as the pictures prove, the hard work has paid off.
The dog has been named Thor and he is receiving medical care to prepare him for a foster home.
Rescuers say he’s a sweet and loving dog.
