Match is taking application for its annual MatchMade Scholarship Contest, a $50,000 program open to kids of parents who met on the popular dating site.
Match will accept submissions through Aug. 17. In early September, the public will choose the winner by voting for their favorite video on www.MatchMade.com. At the end of September, the winner will be awarded a $50,000 college scholarship.
Fourteen-year-old Noah Hambleton of Johns Creek was a finalist in last year's contest.
The MatchMade Scholarship contest is open to students between the ages of 5-20 whose parents met or remarried through Match. To enter, students must submit a short, 1-2 minute video at www.MatchMade.com retelling their parents' Match love story in a creative way. It can be funny, sweet, emotional or all three.
The most important thing is that they capture everything that’s special about how their parents met on Match and the effect it’s had on their life.
Due to overwhelming feedback following the inaugural year, Match has lowered the minimum age requirement for the MatchMade Scholarship from 13 to 5 years old. As part of this year’s contest parents of the MatchMade scholarship winner will be given a grand prize getaway to Fiji.
“MatchMade kids account for 5 percent of all births in the U.S.,” said Sam Yagan, CEO of Match.
Scholarships, he said, will help them get one step closer to college.
