Brad Bellomo says his daughter took to drawing at an early age.

"Seeing the art in (the shop on) the ceiling, she had come in a few times, watched other artists and myself doing the art on the ceiling, and she was like, 'I wanna do one,'" Bellomo told CNN. His daughter marked ceiling tiles with painted handprints.

Bellomo later gave his daughter another chance to be creative -- this time with a needle. After posting a photo of the finished tattoo on social media, the post went viral, garnering many positive comments and criticisms.

"A lot of it is just someone saying that that's bad parenting or questioning (my) parenting. But everybody's kid is different," said Bellomo.

Bellomo said he is not trying to push his daughter into a career, but admitted he wouldn't mind if she took over his tattoo parlor someday.

When asked why she chose to draw a strawberry, the girl answered, "Because it was cute."
