Police still have not recovered them.

The trees were stolen while still in the refrigerated trailers they were transported in.

Police said the thieves drove over 30 miles before disabling the GPS trackers used to monitor the trailers.

"They stole the whole trailer. They're just desperate," said Mike Welsh, owner and operator of Welsh Transport.

Welsh had unloaded a shipment of poinsettias at the Costco where the Christmas trees were stolen shortly before the trailers were stolen. He said he saw the trailers while they were still outside the store.

The Costco store assured customers it will have enough Christmas trees for everyone who wants one this holiday season.
