What’s Valentine’s Day in the modern era without the emergence of a, uh, modern era dating app?

There is a lot of science behind the act of love.

Enter FetL, a just released app to help “fetish, kinky and BDSM” enthusiasts find each other.

“When I’d meet people in clubs, they almost always told me that they found it difficult to meet people who shared their fetishes,” Iris Li, on of FetL’s co-founders, said in a press release. She credits the “Fifty Shades” films, based on the wildly popular books, with creating even more interest in the lifestyle.

“Fifty Shades Freed,” the final film in the trilogy was released Feb. 9 and immediately took over the top spot at the box office. (Entertainment Weekly)

(How much interest? “Fifty Shades Freed,” the just released third film in the series, pulled in $38.5 million last weekend, landing it at No. 1, ahead of poor little “Peter Rabbit” and former top earner, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”)

From the description, FetL works in ways that will be familiar to users of some other dating apps: There’s a GPS based feature to aid in location-type searches and a “Spark” feature, where users can swipe to like or take a pass on other users. Find complete information at www.fetlapp.com).

You must be at least 18 years of age to access and use FetL. It’s available for download through the App Store.
