First step to ensure an entertaining night in Atlanta: follow the local party promoters who bring that fire on social media.

Atlanta's bars and clubs host a variety of entertainment groups on different nights.

Going to the right club on the right night is the key to it all, which is where the promoter comes in — like a late-inning specialist, to keep you winning.

As such, the question becomes: Which promoters should you follow on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter if getting things lit for a wild night out is the order of the day?

"We're lucky in the Atlanta underground scene to have so many smaller clubs and intimate venues that consistently feature stellar music," said Casey Morris of the Atlanta Underground Club Scene. "Following local promoters is a great way to find out what is going on."

The crew at IRIS Presents, the promoters whose weekly Iris ESP 101 provided the genesis for what today is the Imagine Music Festival,  are ones to watch. Fred Smith's GuestList Atlanta, which is reinventing the private, exclusive NYC-style clubgoing experience in Atlanta, can also lead to night to remember in Atlanta.

Beyond those headline party hosts lies the underground, the pockets of subculture that don't really get a lot of press, but whose efforts can amass great impact on the future of what "cool" even means. They stack up followers and loyal party-goers.

To get your thumb on that pulse, the first step is to follow Morris' promoter recommendations. Morris is an underground club expert and someone whose lifestyle is deeply tied to the Atlanta EDM scene. In a city filled with nightclub promoters, it can feel like everyone tells you they have the hottest party, and that few usually do.

But Morris actually knows them all, and he shares an aggregate list of those events and promoters on the events calendar at Atlanta Underground Club Scene's Facebook page.

Here are additional promoters to follow on social media to keep things lit in your neck of the woods:

Afro Acid

Atlanta Techno Love

Katalyst

Liquified
