Free attractions for soldiers on Veterans Day

Veterans will have a free day at Zoo Atlanta, the Atlanta History Center and the Georgia Aquarium on Veterans Day.

On Friday, Nov. 11, the zoo will offer free admission to veterans, active-duty, reserve and retired members of the Armed Forces, plus discounts of $4 off general admission for up to six accompanying guests.

Present a valid military ID or DD-214 form at Zoo Atlanta admissions to redeem the discount. The offer is valid only on Friday, Nov. 11, and is not valid online, nor with any other discount or promotion.

At the Georgia Aquarium all active military and veterans will also receive complimentary admission all day on Friday, Nov. 11 and on Saturday, Nov. 12. Family members will receive 30 percent off general admission.

The Aquarium also plans a color guard presentation by the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Atlanta Region, on Friday, Nov. 11, at 12 p.m., in the main atrium. 404-581-4000, www.georgiaaquarium.org/

At the Atlanta History Center the public is invited to a free Veterans Day Commemoration, featuring war correspondent Joe Galloway, the 116th Army Band and recognition of the 75th anniversary of the USO. Veterans Park at the Atlanta History Center. 11 a.m. , Nov. 11. This event is free.
