Zombies don't die easily, "The Walking Dead" renewed


Even before the fifth season premiers, fans of "The Walking Dead" will have another year to look forward to.

AMC announced Tuesday that it was renewing the popular show.

The network's president, Charlie Collier, said, "AMC proudly confirms a sixth season order of this extraordinary series."

Scott Gimple will return as the showrunner and executive producer, AMC reports..  There is also a possible companion series based on a new story and characters in the works.

Season 5 of "The Walking Dead" premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC.
