Broadcast Music, Inc., a music rights organization, is recognizing Taylor Swift with the first-ever Taylor Swift Award, according to a Tuesday press release.

This is the second time BMI has designated an award named after an artist.

The first was named for Michael Jackson in 1990.

The press release said the award recognizes Swift's "incomparable creative and artistic talent and influence on music lovers throughout the world."

The BMI Pop Awards is a private event that recognizes songwriting and publishing in pop music.

Swift will receive the award at the 64th annual BMI Pop Awards May 10 in Los Angeles.
