A company called Hendo has ushered in the beginning of a new era in transportation by creating the world's first real hoverboard.

So, of course, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk quickly jumped at the chance to wipe out on camera while riding the new board.

The Hendo Hover won't take skaters to any incredible heights yet, but it does manage to ride smoothly without any wheels about 1 inch off the ground.
