Bryan Cranston reportedly cast as Lex Luthor

From "Breaking Bad" to super-villain?

Cosmic Book News is reporting Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor in the 2015 "Man of Steel" sequel.

Well, he's certainly got the bald head ready to go — he's even done the alliterative name thing. And, the site reports he's been signed to appear at least six times as Luthor in various DC Comics films. (Via AMC)

“DC is going to have all of their main characters liberally appearing or at least mentioned in all of their movies to portray a more connected world than what Marvel Studios has done so far.”

Cosmic Book News says the studio is waiting for “Breaking Bad” to finish its run to release the news.

Of course, the studio did officially announce major casting news last week — Ben Affleck as Batman in the sequel. Note -- that's Cranston in "Argo" with Affleck, also a Warner Bros movie. (Via Warner Bros.)

But the Cranston news — not so much. Mind of the Geek calls this a great choice, if it's true ...

And one fan said he likes Cranston as Luthor… as much as he hates Affleck as Batman. (Via Twitter)

Actually, Cranston’s name has been thrown around as a potential choice since news of the sequel was announced at Comic-Con — a few weeks back he responded to the rumors...

"'Give me a call' [he said] … And to hear Cranston tell it, he's already given some thought as to getting into Luthor's psyche.' I like Lex Luthor. I think he's misunderstood. He's a loveable, sweet man." (Via Metro)

Sounds a lot like Walter White. The "Man of Steel" sequel hits theaters summer 2015.
