How playing Mario Kart can help you win Dragoncon tickets

Put your Mario Kart skills to the test and win two Dragoncon tickets in a tournament at Atkins Park Restaurant and Bar this week.

The bar is hosting a Mario Kart Tournament on March 30. The competition will reward the winner with a pair of four-day passes to Dragoncon.

But. it will take more than being good at the video game to win the tournament. There's alcohol involved.

While you certainly shouldn't drink and drive in real life, tournamnet participants must finish a complimentary Wild Heaven Emergency Drinking Beer before finishing the race. Participants are encouraged to get creative, but they won't be allowed to drink and play the video game at the same time.

You do not have to register in advance to participate in this competition. There is no entry fee.

Originally created in 1992, Mario Kart is a go-kart racing video game within the Supere Mario Bros. Franchise.

Held annually in Atlanta, Dragoncon is a popuar culture convention that brings tens of thousands of fantasy and science fiction fans to the city for four days worth of panels, demonstration and more. This year's convention will be held September 2 - 5.

10 p.m. March 30. Free admission. Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar, 794 North Highland Ave., Atlanta. facebook.com/atkinsparkVH
