Zoo Atlanta will close at 1 p.m. today, one hour after a mix of snow and rain is predicted to hit metro Atlanta.

While heavy amounts of snow aren’t expected until later tonight, Gov. Nathan Deal has issued a state of emergency, beginning at noon.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency advised residents to prepare to stay at home for at least three days.
