Sage Software, a maker of payroll and other business software, plans to open a new office in Midtown Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has learned.

The expansion will be announced Friday morning at a press conference in Midtown with state and local economic development leaders. The company has been scouting office space in Atlantic Station, the real estate publication Bisnow Atlanta previously reported. The total number of new and relocated jobs is expected to be approximately 350, a person with knowledge of the situation said.

Sage also has a campus in Gwinnett County. But the relocated jobs are expected to be ones from a campus in California.

Sage would join several technology companies planning expansions or relocations in Midtown near Georgia Tech. NCR, Worldpay US and Kaiser Permanente are among the companies that have made recent relocation decisions, citing the verve of Midtown and its proximity to the research university and other in-town colleges.
