Got a PIN number to keep your smartphone locked and the bad guys out? That’s not nearly enough to remain safe on your smartphone, according to a new report from Equifax, the Atlanta-based credit data company.

Here’s some recommendations on smartphone security from the company:

Don’t let your phone automatically remember passwords.

Turn off searches for WiFi connections and Bluetooth searches for device connections until you need them.

Log off websites and out of apps when not using them.

Have anti-virus and firewall security software that is up-to-date and running on your smartphone.

Make sure your phone’s operating system is current, because updates may include security patches.

Keep your phone locked with a hard-to-guess PIN or access code.
