Guess it's official now: The Jane Fonda-Ted Turner marriage really and truly is over.
Fifteen years after Atlanta's former First Fun Couple officially divorced, Fonda is auctioning off her engagement ring and the dress she wore to marry the CNN founder in 1991. They're part of a sale entitled "Property from the Collection of Jane Fonda" that Julien's Auctions will conduct live and online on September 23.
"The age-defying actress has firmly established herself as an icon of her generation and a Hollywood legend who paved the way for women throughout her entire life," Julien's Auctions says of the 78-year-old, two-time Academy Award winning actress, groundbreaking "workout queen" and lifelong social activist. "The Collection is a story of Fonda's life, representing different points in her celebrated career and personal life."
Other items to be included in the auction include a 1982 Andy Warhol pop lithograph of Fonda as the title character in the 1968 film “Barbarella” (Julien’s estimates it will sell for $25,000 - $30,000); the red-and-black striped leotard she wore on the cover of “Jane Fonda’s Workout,” the 1982 book that literally and figuratively turned the exercise industry upside-down (Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000), the earrings she wore in “Monster-in-Law” and her 1955 high school yearbook (Estimate: $400 - $600).

Julien's puts the auction estimate for both the high-neck, Victorian-style wedding dress and the 18-carat gold Tiffany's engagement ring from her Turner nuptials at "only" $2,000 - $4,000 apiece. But the thrice-married Fonda's feelings toward Turner clearly are worth a lot more: She's been known to describe him as "my favorite ex-husband," including in this 2012 blog post about a fundraiser for the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP), the organization she credits Turner with inspiring her to create.
