It's a big weekend for Harry Potter fans who on July 31 will be treated to the eighth installment of J.K. Rowling's best-selling Harry Potter series.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child -- Parts I & II is a script book of the play which premieres on London's West End stage July 30 -- nineteen years after the series began.

The play, written by Jack Thorne, features Harry Potter as an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic. He is a husband and father of three school-age children, one of whom carries a family legacy he never wanted.

To celebrate the debut of the play and the release of the script book, Books-A-Million is hosting a midnight release party on Saturday, July 30 at all locations.

The events begin at 2 p.m. and include Harry Potter trivia contests, scavenger hunts and crafts. Expect to also see coloring stations, story time activities and wand crafts.

At 9 p.m., a countdown event begins with sorting hat ceremonies, costume contests and other Potter-related activities. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in Hogwarts robes with brooms and wands. All attendees will get a swag bag with magical goodies.

You can reserve a copy of the book by purchasing a pre-order voucher through July 30 at any store location. Customers with vouchers have first access to get a copy of the book at midnight. Everyone will receive a swag bag full of goodies.

The event is free to attend and open to the public.
