Early this morning almost 30 adults were posted up outside the new Chick-fil-A at 14th Street and Northside Drive to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. The new location opens Dec. 9 at 6 a.m.

Chick-fil-A's First 100 events give a digital card with a one-year supply of free meals to each of the first 100 eligible adults (18 and older with identification) in line before the opening of a new location. The line begins forming at 6 a.m. the day prior to opening.

In West Midtown, guests began setting up tents in the parking lot to settle in for what promises to be a chilly morning and overnight stay.

As Chick-fil-A fans know, the First 100 rules have changed recently. Previous events allowed anyone to camp out and earn free meals, but new stipulations require that anyone lining up must live within certain zip codes surrounding the restaurant.
