A high-profile lineup including John Legend, Common, Dave Matthews, Public Enemy, Carlos Santana, Estelle, Chris Rock, Jesse Williams and Danny Glover will participate in an Atlanta-area fall festival focusing on racial and social justice.
Many Rivers to Cross, a music and arts fest produced by Sankofa.org, the social justice organization founded by Harry Belafonte, will take place 30 miles outside of Atlanta at Bouckaert Farm in Chattahoochee Hills Oct. 1-2.
Tickets will go on sale July 29. Prices are TBA.
The two-day event, which aims to promote awareness around human rights issues, will also feature a “Social Justice Village” where activists and Sankofa.org’s organizational partners will share information and ideas and activate calls-to-action to mobilize attendees around human rights issues.
Belafonte founded Sankofa.org in 2013. Though this is its first festival, the organization recently partnered with Blackout for Human Rights for the Justice for Flint benefit concert and worked with Usher on his "Chains" video and racial injustice campaign.
