in improving bicycling conditions.
It is Georgia’s only conference dedicated to fostering bicycle-friendly policies and infrastructure. Bike-centered events include a roundtable and outdoor bike-in movie in downtown Milledgeville on Nov. 6, the Summit on Nov. 7 at Georgia College and State University, and a variety of bike rides and kayaking on Nov. 8.
The 2015 Summit is hosted by Georgia Bikes and the Bicycling Club of Milledgeville, and presented by Bike Law and Stantec. The summit is held in a different city every year.
“It was an easy decision to select Milledgeville for this year’s Summit,” explained Georgia Bikes’ Executive Director Brent Buice in a press release. “In just a few short years, the city has demonstrated a real commitment to improving the safety and accessibility of bicycling for its citizens and visitors by successfully pursuing a Bicycle Friendly Community designation from the League of American Bicyclists and by adopting a local Complete Streets policy to ensure that road projects accommodate all users, including people who walk and bike.”
