President Donald Trump is on the way to Las Vegas, where he and First Lady Melania Trump will meet with victims of Sunday night's deadly massacre as authorities work diligently to continue processing the scene and search for answers.

"I understand in the insatiable appetite of the media that you want some answers, but I'm going to make it very clear to you that I need some patience. This investigation is a long time from being completed," he said. "Nobody wants answers to 'why' more than the police and the victims' families. We have a responsibility to get it right. That's going to take time, and that's why we're going to take that time."

The president's comments regarding the worst mass shooting in U.S. history have included nothing but high praise for law enforcement and in a typically blunt condemnation, he has called Stephen Paddock "demented."

"It is a 'miracle' how fast the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were able to find the demented shooter and stop him from even more killing!" Trump posted via Twitter, following up with " My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!"

Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo is looking forward to it:
