As governors across the United States announce plans to halt Syrian refugees from settling in their states in the wake of Friday's attacks in Paris by Islamic State terrorists, media mogul and social media provocateur Rupert Murdoch has a possible solution: only let in those who are "proven Christians."

Murdoch's suggestion evoked a predictable backlash, with Twitter users noting the idea is not only unconstitutional but also would be pretty tricky to work out.

Some responses demanded to know exactly how you'd search for "proven Christians." Look for signs of stigmata, perhaps?

A great many responses aren't printable (or blogable) in a family newspaper.
