Mihoko Obunai, who previously operated Nexto ramen restaurant, is bringing a bone broth stall to Old Fourth Ward.

Bone Broth is projected to open next month in Irwin Street Market at 660 Irwin St. NE, Eater Atlanta first reported.

Four different types of broth will be on the menu, including 100% Georgia grass-fed beef, organic chicken and turkey, a vegan broth and a “dog broth” which is meant to help support a dog’s immune system but can also be consumed by humans.

Broths will be served in 12-ounce to-go cups or quart-sized, sealed containers.

In addition to Nexto, Obunai also previously ran pop-up Ramen Freak and owned the restaurant Repast with ex-husband Joe Truex.

•Matt Weinstein, who previously served as executive chef at One Midtown Kitchen and Tap Gastropub, will serve as executive chef at the second location of Biltong Bar, which is set to open at Shops Buckhead Atlanta this year.

Biltong Bar is from True Story Brands, which also owns the original Biltong Bar as well as other South African-inspired concepts including 10 Degrees South, Cape Dutch and Yebo Beach House .

Weinstein plans to build upon Biltong Bar’s signature “beef jerky and booze” concept by introducing several menus with new items including a Flat Top Burger, Gatsby Dip sandwich, Tandoori Chicken Wings and Smoked Peri-Peri Trout Dip.

•Martin Smetana has joined Twelve Eighty at the Woodruff Arts Center as chef de cuisine. The Czech Republic native previously served as executive chef at Foundry Park Inn and Spa in Athens and The Carriage House in Jefferson. He also worked at Chateau Elan in Braselton. New menu items under Smetana include jumbo lump crab cakes and crispy grouper sandwiches.
