A restaurant featuring salads, wings and a BLT sandwich for vegans is now open in Cabbagetown.

Mouth of the South opened earlier this month at 186 Carroll St. SE, Eater first reported.

The restaurant’s menu features a variety of starters, salads, tacos (which can be prepared vegetarian upon request), wings including a Korean fried chicken option, sandwiches including a vegan BLT made with eggplant “bacon”  and sides such as vegan fried green tomatoes as well as a kids menu and desserts including bourbon cherry cheesecake.

The restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner, recently got its liquor license and has a full bar. Non-alcoholic beverage options include juices and sodas.
Steven Lingenfelter and Laurie Dominguez of Illegal Food were originally set to design the menu, but they recently parted ways with the restaurant.

Mouth of the South is open from noon-midnight Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-midnight Sunday.
