Expectations vs. Reality

The first year of a new relationship brings a lot of  much needed reality checks.  The perceptions we hold when we first meet someone become a little more defined.  We start to see the reality and our expectations become more tempered and less about fantasy.

It is great when our expectations of what it will be like to be with someone is close to reality.  We start to believe that we are with the right person and they have been honest about who they really are.

The harshest reality checks happen when the person you first met is nothing like the person you have come to know over time.  You start to wonder if you had unrealistic expectations or if you were given really bad information!
