Wednesday weather is sunny and cool through lunch after a chilly morning, forecasters say.

Then clouds begin to creep in early in the afternoon, Channel 2 Action News Meteorologist Karen Minton said.

“It’s cold enough that if you leave your home without a coat you’ll be mad,” Minton said about early morning temperatures. “We’ll see some higher clouds start to drift in later this afternoon.”

Cloud-cover will usher in cooler temperatures for Thursday and possible light precipitation leading to the weekend.

The Mercury is expected to reach highs in the low- to mid-50s today, and temperatures dipping as low as the 30s overnight at some Georgia locations.

Expect drizzle Thursday morning before partly cloudy skies give way to temperatures in the mid-60s on Friday.

There’s a 40-percent chance of rain on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Then expect chilly, windy, sunny skies on Sunday, with the high only reaching 47 degrees, Minton said.
