Just when you thought it couldn’t get any hotter, Atlanta reached the expected high of 90 degrees Wednesday.

The city hit that mark just after 5 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

Here's Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns with a look at your Wednesday evening forecast.

The record high for this day, set in 1954, is 93.

“There’ll be another couple of days with temperatures right around 90 degrees,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan.

Highs are expected to hit 89 Thursday, 84 Friday, 79 Saturday and 75 Sunday.

A warm Wednesday night is also in the forecast.

“Any clouds you’ll see during the day will fall apart after sunset,” Monahan said.

Temps should start to drop later this week.

“A front is actually on its way to us, and that eventually is going to take some of these temperatures down,” Minton said. “But in the meantime, it’s hot.”
