Fans of funk won't want to miss the Purple Hatter's Ball in Live Oak, Florida, on June 17-19.

The Purple Hatter's Ball at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (3076 95th Drive, Live Oak, Florida) on June 17-19 will be a weekend full of funk, fun and altruism. The festival is in memory of Rachel Morningstar Hoffman and is an effort to raise awareness about the Confidential Informant Law.

The Polish Ambassador is the band that established Action Day to encourage activism in the festival community. Musicians and fans will be working on community projects on June 16 for the Purple Hatter's Ball Action Day. There are several projects on the schedule, such as restoring a community garden, building waste management stations and permaculture education.

Participants during Action Day will receive free entry into the June 16 pre-party. Tickets to the early show cost $37.55 (includes fees). Sunsquabi, Savi Fernandez Birthday Band, Space Kadet and Gypsy Elise will perform at the special show.

Tickets for the three-day Purple Hatter's Ball cost $150.32 (including fees) in advance and include primitive car camping. Single and two-day tickets also are available. Upgrades to RV hookup sites are available and there are several hotels in the area.

The weekend lineup includes The Floozies, Papadosio, Dubconscious, The Polish Ambassador, The Mantras, Roosevelt Collier Band, Earphunk, The Hip Abduction, Post Pluto, VooDoo Visionary and many more.

The Late Night Silent Disco will also feature artists like Charlie Hustle, Ancient Deep, Cat Party, Cuddlefish, Damballa, Dazey and several other funk artists and bands.

A road trip to Live Oak, Florida, takes about four and a half hours from the heart of downtown Atlanta.
