According to BuzzFeed, South Africans Chanel Cartell and Stevo Dirnberger decided to quit their jobs in advertising to pursue their dream: seeing the world. For the past six months, they've been writing about their trip on their blog, How Far From Home, and sharing breathtaking photos on their Instagram page.
In a blog post Monday, Cartell admitted that she and Dirnberger have done their share of dirty work to fund their travels.
"So far, I think we've tallied 135 toilets scrubbed, 250 kilos of cow dung spread, 2 tons of rocks shoveled, 60 meters of pathway laid, 57 beds made, and I cannot even remember how many wine glasses we've polished," she wrote.
Cartell said the budget is so tight that they have to eat crackers with jam and "adapt to the least amount of necessities and food."
