If you love to make food, eat food and learn about food, there can never be too many websites about, well, food. Especially when one stands out from the crowd. SORTEDfood.com has all the traditional fixings you’d expect: recipes, articles and videos, but with a lot of personality, humor and fun stirred into the mix.
The site was conceived in 2009, by a group of English school friends who would meet in a pub and share “scandalous” stories about university. Apparently, the most “shocking” stories revolved around what they were eating, so they began trading recipes and cooking techniques. They decided to share this with a wider audience and SORTEDfood.com, which now has more than a million members, was born.
The on-camera faces of SORTED are Jamie, Ben, Barry and Mike, a boy band of foodies who have as much fun as The Beatles in “A Hard Day’s Night” as they demonstrate how to prepare various dishes. Recipes are combined into themed playlists. Thus, you’ll find “10 Crazy Good Burger Recipes,” “14 Winning Recipes for Students” and “The 5 Epic-est Sandwiches Ever,” as well as “7 Things You Should Never Eat in a Car” (with recipes for three things you can). The videos vary in length and beneath each is an ingredients list and easy-to-follow step-by-step directions. Whether you are new to cooking or a kitchen pro, you’ll no doubt find something of interest here, from eggs Benedict Bagel to chocolate soup.
