In the midst of discussions about tax reform and tensions with North Korea, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to comment on ESPN host Jemele Hill’s two-week suspension announced on Monday.

“With Jemele Hill at the mike, it is no wonder ESPN ratings have ‘tanked, in fact, tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry!” Trump tweeted early Tuesday.

Hill was suspended for writing, "If you strongly reject what Jerry Jones said (in regard to benching players who kneel during the national anthem), the key is his advertisers. Don't place the burden squarely on the players."

ESPN announced Hill was suspended for a second violation of ESPN’s social media conduct policy on Sunday night. Hill previously drew criticism and a talking to from ESPN when she tweeted out her opinion that Trump was a “white supremacist” in September.

"In the aftermath, all employees were reminded of how individual tweets may reflect negatively on ESPN and that such actions would have consequences. Hence this decision,” ESPN said in part in a statement.
